As the nation unravels in some places, I’m holding tight to the One who holds it all together.
As I sit down to write this week’s Sunday post, it’s Flag Day. It’s a day that’s supposed to remind us of our unity, our freedom, and the blessings we enjoy as Americans. It also happens to be President Trump’s birthday. I don’t believe our president’s birthday falling on Flag Day is a coincidence. Like many Christians, I believe God is using Trump to save our country from destruction.
I know he was saved from an assassin’s bullet by millimeters by the Lord. God used the incident to humble our president and remind him that he is God’s tool, and that without God on his side, he didn’t have a chance of fulfilling his dream to bring our country back to its Judeo-Christian roots and days of grandeur. President Trump tends to be a bit full of himself, but he couldn’t have accomplished what he has without his strong, determined, and confident personality. It’s the reason God chose him for the job.
No one should be shocked by these protests. When Craigslist ads are recruiting rioters and deep-pocketed puppeteers are bankrolling chaos in L.A.—all aimed at sabotaging ICE and law enforcement for doing their jobs—you know it’s orchestrated. As a born-and-raised Californian (now gratefully escaped), I watched the slow-motion collapse of the not-so-Golden State. It didn’t fall in a day, but Newsom slammed the gas pedal. My husband and I voted to recall him three times before finally saying, “Enough!” and getting out.
I don’t waste my time with mainstream media. I stick with Newsmax and Flashpoint—truth-tellers who actually do their homework. Flashpoint sounded the alarm and called believers to prayer because they’d already uncovered the plans: protests were being organized in blue cities, and Craigslist ads were out there recruiting paid agitators. Call them “protesters” if you want, but anyone smarter than a potted plant—or whose elevator actually reaches the top floor—knows what’s really happening. Nobody’s handing out fat checks to peaceful sign-holders. That money’s fueling mayhem.
All of us in the Flashpoint Army are praying for truth to win out and for blind eyes to be opened. As we prepare to leave our Texas home base for five months of travel and volunteer work, I couldn’t help but feel the weight of what’s going on in our country. It’s heavy. The division, the lies, the confusion—it’s enough to make you want to pull the shades and hide in your RV. But we weren’t called to hide. We were called to pray.
We don’t curse the darkness—we light candles. And prayer, friends, is the brightest flame we’ve got.
What the Flag Still Means to Me
The American flag has always meant something special to me. I’m a flag-flying, freedom-loving patriot. But more than that, I’m a believer who knows this country was founded on godly principles, and I’m not ashamed to say it. When I see Old Glory waving in the wind, I don’t just see stars and stripes—I see sacrifice, courage, and the hope that we can still be a nation under God if we return to Him.
President Trump’s Birthday and the Battle We Can’t See
Love him or hate him, President Trump’s name always stirs the pot. And on his birthday, the enemy has ramped up the chaos again. Satan has plenty of puppets to keep the protests escalating and the dissonance going. People are angry, scared, and more divided than ever. But let’s not get it twisted—this isn’t just about politics. It’s a spiritual battle, plain and simple.
Ephesians 6:12 spells it out for us: “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against rulers, authorities, and the powers of this dark world…” If you’re feeling a little beat down or discouraged by what you’re seeing in the news, it might be time to turn off the TV and hit your knees.
Now Is the Time to Pray Like Never Before
If you’ve been waiting for a sign to start praying more boldly, this is it.
Let’s not forget 2 Chronicles 7:14:Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. God isn’t asking for perfection. He’s asking for repentance. For humility. For hearts that seek Him first, before the news, before the votes, before we post our opinions on social media.
Tommy and I may be hitting the road for a new assignment, but our commitment to pray for our country is stronger than ever. And I’m inviting you to join us.
Here’s How We Can Pray Right Now:
Pray for peace to overwhelm the violence and hatred
Pray for wisdom and protection for President Trump (and our current leaders, too, even the ones we didn’t vote for)
Pray for a great awakening in the Church
Pray for truth to rise and lies to be exposed
Pray for courage—for pastors, parents, and patriots to speak the truth in love
The Good News: We Know Who’s Really in Charge
This Flag Day, I’m reminded that no matter who’s in office or how loud the protests get, God is still on the throne. He hasn’t blinked. He hasn’t turned His back. And He hasn’t given up on America.
So, while the flags wave, the crowds shout, and the politician’s scheme, I’ll be over here praying. Loud and clear. Confident in the One who holds it all together.
We are heading out early tomorrow. I have no idea what kind of chaos will have erupted overnight. I’m praying that the most battle-tested, backbone-blessed leader in modern history, Donald J. Trump, had an amazing and blessed birthday. God knew what He was doing when He chose the man who shares his birthday with Flag Day. The flag stands for courage, sacrifice, and truth—and so does the man who refuses to back down. While others burn flags and tear down what’s good, I’ll be over here praying, praising, and flying Old Glory with pride.
🙏 Not sure how to pray right now? Start here:
💥 Isaiah 59:19 (NKJV) When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.
🙏 Philippians 4:6–7 (NLT) Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything… Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.
🛡️ Ephesians 6:13 (NLT) Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.
🇺🇸 Psalm 33:12 (NKJV) Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance.
🔥 Jeremiah 1:19 (NLT) They will fight you, but they will fail. For I am with you, and I will take care of you. I, the Lord, have spoken!
God bless all of you prayer warriors, our president, and God bless America!
I’d love to have you as a subscriber to my Substack newsletter. I share bi-weekly posts about my faith, RV living, and giving back in my retirement through Roving Volunteers in Christ’s Service ministries.
It was Trump’s first rally in PA since the assassination attempt.
I’m a Trump girl and a patriot. I believe with every fiber of my being that our 45th and 47th president is God’s choice to remove those who want to destroy our nation from political office.
I’ll confess that when I first heard he was running for president in 2016, I didn’t like him and had no intention of voting for him. I wondered how the billionaire with the hit TV show thought he could help our country.
The Republican ticket was loaded with men I thought were better choices because of their faith and their beliefs in our Constitution. I loved Ben Carson and still do. However, he wasn’t the tiger I knew we needed to face down the Deep State and drain the swamp. I also considered Ted Cruz. His record as a senator was excellent, and his values mirrored mine.
The more I watched Trump speak in interviews and debates, the more I liked him. I came to believe that a businessman in the White House who wasn’t beholding to political lackeys was the person to make the changes needed to get our country on the right track.
I became a staunch and vocal supporter, which cost me a couple of friendships. Being from California, one of the Bluest states in the country, this shouldn’t have come as a surprise.
In typical Democrat fashion, if I disagreed with them about Trump, they didn’t want anything to do with me. After some initial sadness over the lost friendships, I realized they weren’t people I wanted to be associated with anyway. If you and I can’t disagree and still care about each other, you aren’t a friend anyway.
In 2020, I invited a couple of my girlfriends to join me for a Trump Flotilla on the Sacramento River. I booked us a hotel room where we could see the river from our window and just step outside to a part of the action. It was AWESOME! The positive and patriotic energy was indescribable. My pals felt the same as I did about the experience.
The Trump Flotilla on the Sacramento River in 2020
Mind you, this was a Trump support rally in California’s capital. I can only imagine how awesome it would have been if Trump were there. The boats lined the river, and the streets nearby were lined with cars adorned with the American and Trump support flags. We walked across the bridge over the river, wearing our Trump shirts and waving at the patriots. It was great.
I would have given anything to have had my friends join me last week in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
I was upset over the assassination attempt but not surprised. I pray for our president’s protection daily. I believe the Left is so desperate to make sure he doesn’t take his rightful place in office back that they will do anything to stop him. That includes murder in my mind.
My husband and I are full-time RVers now and traveling across the country. When I received an email stating that Trump was returning to Pennsylvania and would be in Harrisburg, only 26 miles from our campground, I knew I had to go.
My husband wasn’t interested. He doesn’t like crowds or standing in long lines for anything or anybody. I booked a hotel room a few miles from the Farm Show Complex. I didn’t want to drive home after the rally because of my night blindness. With Trump scheduled to speak at 6:00 p.m., I figured I should play it safe.
As it turned out, some wonderful friends we made in the campground were also Trump supporters. They were going to the rally and offered to drive. I canceled my hotel reservations after giving my new friend a huge hug. It was great to have someone to go with and not have to drive. I shared the amazing story of our meeting in this post.
Since this was my first Trump rally, I have no idea how other cities prepare for the onslaught of supporters, but I don’t think Harrisburg did a very good job. Traffic was abysmal! We left the campground at 1:30 for the 26-mile trip. We sat on the highway, barely moving for hours. When we got within a half mile of the complex, I decided to do as many folks had done and walk the rest of the way. I told my pals we’d catch up somewhere and, despite wearing flip-flops, made my way to the line that stretched another mile to get into the venue.
I met the nicest people in line, and visiting with them made the time go by. My problem was that I needed to go to the bathroom. When I saw a porta-potty in the parking lot, I asked the people I was in line with to save my spot and headed for it. It was padlocked.
When I returned to the line, I told the folks holding my place that I thought it was a torture technique to put a porta-potty out there if they were going to padlock it. I found three more, and they, too, were locked.
When we got a couple hundred feet from the complex door, there was a line of porta-potties. None of them had toilet paper, and there was no way I was putting my butt on that nasty seat. Luckily, I had tissue in my purse and had enough strength left in my legs to do the squat position.
Hawkers sold Trump-support items from the backed-up highway to the front door. I bought one of my husband’s shirts while still in the truck on the freeway. Families sold ice-cold bottled water from wagons, too. Trump helps the local economy just by showing up.
A large screen on the building was broadcasting the speakers who were already taking the stage so the people in line didn’t miss out. When I finally made it inside the building, it was about 4:45. I found a seat on the ground floor that wasn’t as close to the stage as I would have liked, but I could see one of the big-screen TVs well. I texted my friends to see where they were. Kelly texted back that they had great seats behind the podium and had room for me.
I went towards the seats behind the podium, but I couldn’t find section 40 to save my life. Searching through the thousands of faces, I didn’t spot them, so I sat on the steps next to a lively supporter, where we would easily see President Trump coming out onto the stage. I was surprised we were allowed to sit on the steps but thrilled with the location to watch my president.
President Trump takes the stage.
The supporter I sat next to was a black woman from Harrisburg. The media would have you believe that Trump doesn’t have the support of the black community, but they are lying. This article, published by the American Presidency Project, addresses the many policies Trump enacted during his term in office that improved the lives of black Americans.
I’ve forgotten her name, but my fellow supporter was quite vocal. She kept hollering, “We need Trump! Harrisburg’s a dump!” She yelled it so much that I could see the irritation in some people around us. She may have taken her enthusiasm for our president a bit too far.
Since I don’t walk in her shoes, I can’t speak to how bad things are in Harrisburg. From what I’ve read, crime is out of control. Harrisburg, the Pennsylvania state capital, is reported to be an American city with one of the highest homicide rates; I believe she knows what she’s talking about.
While in Pennsylvania, I’ve spoken with lots of Trump supporters. When wearing one of my many Trump shirts, I get thumbs up from passers-by. We have a sign in our motorhome window that says, “Don’t blame me. I voted for Trump,” and I get many compliments. When driving around, we see lots of Trump yard signs. This blue state may be one of those to turn red this November.
The rally attendees I’ve spoken with who have been to many of them say that Trump is always late taking the stage. I don’t know why his rally organizers think it’s a good idea. To me, it doesn’t represent how the president works. It’s a policy that should be changed.
Trump was supposed to take the stage at 6:00; it was 7:02 before he did. There was a long break between the speakers and his appearance, and loud and sometimes obnoxious music was played. I kept hoping to hear Lee Greenwood’s, God Bless the USA, because I knew it was the song announcing the president’s entrance.
We all threw our hands up and motioned to the YMCA song several times. The enthusiasm was palpable. A wave started that went around the auditorium at least ten times. Our arms would get tired, and it would stop for a few minutes, but it would start up again repeatedly. It was a great bicep workout.
There were people of every age, race, creed, and color in attendance. A Jewish family with three children sat below an Amish family. The kippas and Amish hats could be seen all over the stadium. I was amazed by how many families were in attendance. I love my president, but I can’t see bringing a toddler to one of his rallies. It had to be a long day for those little ones.
Even the little ones were enjoying the rally.
I’ve listened to many of Trump’s speeches. Still, I was never as moved as I was by the one at the Republican National Convention. The assassination attempt clearly humbled our exuberant president. I was thrilled that he gave God all the credit for being alive. He knew that had he not turned his head at just the right second, he would be dead.
During his speech in Harrisburg, I was a little disappointed that he kept referring to the graph that he turned to look at as the reason he wasn’t killed. He told the crowd that he usually would have waited until the end of his speech to have it up on the screen and that it was generally to his left, not his right.
Everything pointed to God’s intervention, but he talked about loving the sign and, while I was there, failed to mention that God was the reason things went as they did as he did at the convention.
He may have mentioned it later in his speech, but we left about 45 minutes into it. I texted Kelly to let her know I was ready to go whenever they were. The misery of getting out of the parking lot after the rally would be too much. My goal was to be at a rally, and I accomplished that. I’m thrilled that my pals felt the same way.
We met in the front of the building and walked to their car about a half mile away in a school parking lot. There were police officers guiding people out of the parking areas, which was great.
Getting on the highway to head home was, however, a disaster. Roadwork was being done, and the highway we needed to be on was closed. Mark found an alternate route using his Garmin that was much longer but saved us hours sitting in traffic.
Getting on the highway to head home was, however, a disaster. Roadwork was being done, and the highway we needed to be on was closed. Mark found an alternate route using his Garmin that was much longer but saved us hours sitting in traffic.
We could see the freeway that was backed up for miles. It took about an hour to get home and past my bedtime. I was surprised to find my husband still awake and watching TV.
He watched the rally on the television. I told him I was glad he didn’t go with us. His back hurts when he stands or sits for a long time. If the line to get into the building didn’t do him in, the wait to hear the president speak would have.
I’m thrilled that I got to enjoy the experience, but a Trump rally is not for wimps. It was 90 degrees outside, and from what I’ve read, the EMTs were kept busy dealing with people suffering from heat stroke. I Googled “How many people attended the Trump Harrisburg rally” and couldn’t find a straight answer.
I’m so fed up with the media’s bias that I could scream!
I know that the facility is stated to hold 7,300 people. I know that it was reported that 20,000 people who could not get into the rally were turned away. I know that the Secret Services screwup that almost cost our president his life made an indoor venue his only choice, reducing the number of supporters that can attend.
You don’t need to be a conspiracy theorist to assume that a 20-year-old punk didn’t pull off the assassination attempt alone. You don’t need to be a Christian to assess that divine intervention was at play. There are a lot of nefarious charters in our government that need to be rooted out.
When you go to the ballot box this year, there are some questions you should ask yourself. Are you better off now than you were four years ago? Do you feel safer than you were with Trump at the helm? Do you believe the current administration has America’s best interests at heart? The media spins their lies and hypocrisy all day, every day.
I’m sick of the mainstream media and this administration treating Americans as if we’re idiots.
I’ll get off my soapbox now. I’m praising Jesus for the great awakening happening in our nation. God’s not done with America. Trump 2024! If you get the chance to attend a rally, go for it! It’s an experience that will stick with you forever. Call me a wimp. I’m one and done, but it was worth it.
There is talk of World War III on the horizon. If you are like me, you haven’t seen this much turmoil and craziness in our country in your lifetime. You may be asking yourself if there is any hope for our country. I’m here to tell you that there is.
It isn’t the government, Republicans or Democrats, that will turn things around. It’s the Church. That’s the church with a capital C. According to the Bible, Christians are the church. There are no denominations in this battle. You are either for God or against Him. If you are for Him, you need to take a stand for the Biblical principles that our beloved country was founded on.
To quote one of my favorite (tell it like it is) preachers, Jack Hibbs, the anemic and silent church needs to wake up. Silence is compliance. The church was quiet when the government took prayer out of schools. They didn’t take a stand against Roe/v/Wade. We stood on the sidelines while Satan was hard at work, putting people in powerful positions who want to destroy our country. I’m one of the guilty ones. I didn’t vote until I was in my 40s. I was one of those people who thought my vote didn’t make a difference. I was wrong!
We can’t stand idly by while our children are being indoctrinated to hate our country, being taught that white people have an advantage over every other race, and that they might be confused about what sex they are. Here’s a statistic that should shake you out of lazy comfort.
In 2021, about 42,000 children and teens across the United States received a diagnosis of gender dysphoria, nearly triple the number in 2017, according to data Komodo compiled for Reuters.
Why has it tripled? Because our schools and the media have been confusing our kids. I’m so grateful that I don’t have school-age children. I’d have to homeschool, which could be troublesome with my tenth-grade education. We must pay attention to what our kids watch on TV and social media. This nefarious agenda is threatening the lives and future of our children.
Saying that anything good came out of COVID is controversial, but I think the school closures that exposed parents to what their kids were being taught was a good thing. It opened our eyes to a lot of the devil’s schemes.
We found out how weak our churches were when they all caved and closed their doors because our government decided they weren’t essential. Many remained closed for months, and a large number never reopened because too many members became content to do church online. That’s not what the Bible instructs.
Hebrews 10:25 — Let us not neglect our church meetings, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of His coming back again is drawing near.
I’m sure Christ’s return is close. There are very few prophesies left to be fulfilled. When Jesus returns, I want to be one of the first to leave. However, while I’m here, I plan to do my part. That means I need to speak out against evil. Another favorite speaker I enjoy on YouTube, Lance Wallnau, said something that struck me, and I hope it does you, too.
“The Bible tells us to occupy until He comes, not hide out until He gets here.”
This verse backs up what Lance says: 2 Timothy 2:2 — You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now, teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others.
Too many people are content to stand back and do nothing because they believe the tribulation is coming and don’t see the need to make a difference while here. WAKE UP, PLEASE!
The current administration is the most wicked our country has ever seen. The back-room deals, double standards, and evil are enough to make you lose your mind. I don’t watch any mainstream news because they are in the back pockets of the Left and have no desire to share the truth. Turn off CNN, MSNBC, and the rest of them. If their lips are moving, they are lying.
You will be informed and encouraged by watching shows like the ones I’ve listed.
If one more person who claims to be a believer tells me that our country is doomed, I’m going to blow a gasket! It’s not over until God says it is. He wants us to do our parts so that America will be saved. This is God’s country. Let’s get it back by getting involved and letting our voices be heard.
Get on your local school board, city council, or board of supervisors. Heck, become the mayor of your city. Represent your state in Congress. At the very least, weigh in on the critical decisions. And for pity’s sake, VOTE! Don’t vote for a party, either. Vote for the person whose values best match yours. If you don’t think it’s okay to abort a baby right up until, or even shortly after, birth, don’t vote for a representative who says it’s morally justified.
If you believe in the First Amendment, don’t vote for a representative who thinks you should be silenced because you disagree with his/her views.
If you don’t think children should be subjected to life-altering surgeries because they are confused about their sexuality, don’t vote for representatives like Gavin Newsum, who is inviting children to go to California as a refuge for transgender surgery, going as far as paying for it with taxpayer dollars.
Do you believe in the Second Amendment? The right to bear arms was written into the Constitution for good reason. An unarmed society can’t take a stand against a tyrannical government without their guns.
Chicago has the strongest gun laws in the country. How is that working out for them? According to a CBS article, as of October 30th, 2023, Chicago held the top spot for mass shooting incidents. There were 32 separate incidents where at least four people were shot — not including the suspect.
People kill people. Taking guns from law-abiding citizens will not stop gun violence. The bad guys will still get guns. If we don’t have guns to protect ourselves, we’re doomed. The cops can’t help because idiotic cities are stripping law enforcement of funds to pay the dedicated men and women in uniform. DAs in blue cities are releasing criminals back onto our streets without any prosecution. They don’t even need to come up with bail money.
The current administration is destroying our country, and it needs to stop. If we pray and take a stand, America will be saved. Please, folks, for the future of our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, do not stand idly by. Do your part and pray.
I guess I’ll get off of my soapbox now. Thanks for hearing me out. God bless you, and God bless America.
The term as it is currently used dates back as far as 1946.
If you didn’t believe that the mainstream media was in bed with the Left and this horrific administration before, prepare yourself for a tsunami of rhetoric. I thought for months that Biden’s shady administration had no intention of leaving him as its nominee. When they allowed him to debate Trump at an unpredicted early date, knowing full well he’d bomb, it solidified my beliefs.
His abysmal performance was painful to watch. The only reason I tuned in was to watch my president wipe up the floor with him. I’d hoped that Trump would handle the debate as he did. He let Biden do himself in. People would have seen him as cruel if he had been his usual, powerful, demonstrative, and sarcastic self. The most popular words on social media after the debate were “elder abuse.”
If you were expecting a bait-and-switch like I was, you were probably also wondering how the Democrats would do it. Like I did, you probably thought there was no way they would choose Kamala Harris for the job. She has the lowest approval rating of any vice president in history. Cackling Kamala is a disaster!
MSNBC, CNN, CBS, and others will fall in line with the administration and slap lipstick on a pig. If you are a devout Democrat and want to accuse me of calling Kamala a pig, let me share the rest of the Wikipedia description of the saying with you.
The phrase “lipstick on a pig” has been used for centuries in various forms, including “you can’t make a silk purse from a sow’s ear.” The use of “lipstick on a pig” in its current form dates back to at least 1946, but it gained widespread use in political rhetoric during the 2008 United States presidential election, where it was used to criticize spin and to imply that an opponent (beginning with Sarah Palin) is attempting to repackage established policies and present them as new. It has since been used in political discourse in various countries, sometimes causing controversy.
If you plan on voting for this insane ticket because you are a never-Trumper or just a Democrat because your mama, grandmother, and great-granddaddy were, please consider what your party stands for and the repercussions that will follow. The following statements about where Harris stands on these issues are documented. With all of their connections in Silicon Valley, I imagine the Dems will try to scrub many of the statements uttered by their ill-equipped vice president.
Kamala Harris is the most radical Leftist ever to be in office. Feel free to Google her statements on the following policies. Biden appointed her the border czar. How do you feel about the open border and the millions of unvetted illegals pouring into our country? Do you feel safe knowing that drug cartels are flourishing because of this administration’s policies?
How do you feel about Americans being murdered by illegals who have been deported five times? How do you feel about the fact that under this current administration, 73,654 died from fentanyl overdoses in 2022, double the amount in three years prior? The “border czar” has been asleep at the wheel. The open border accounts for millions of deaths, and the buck stops with Kamala. How many visits has she made to our southern border? Who can forget her idiotic statement to Lester Holt when questioned about going to the border? “And I haven’t been to Europe.” Seriously?
Harris touts her Attorney General of California accomplishments. Do a little research on that, folks. She kept a man on death row from presenting exculpatory evidence proving he was not a killer until she was forced to. Watch this presidential debate segment before YouTube removes it.
The woman the Democrats inserted as their presidential nominee is the worst thing that could happen to America. She touted defunding the police while simultaneously bailing out Antifa and Black Lives Matter rioters who destroyed entire cities. She has also stated that she wants to abolish ICE. Help us, Jesus, if this self-serving, radical Marxist ever gets elected.
It will be interesting to see what kind of spin the mainstream media puts on this administration’s antics and their choice to ignore the 14 million democrat voters who chose Biden and not Harris to represent them. Get out your popcorn, folks. We’re in for one heck of a shit show!
Virginia has been amazing! I tell God how grateful I am every day. The blessing of being able to travel across our beautiful United States in an RV is beyond my imagination. I mentioned in an earlier post, I told Tommy shortly after we became a couple that when we retired, we would see America in a motorhome. That was almost 32 years ago, and I couldn’t have dreamed just how amazing it would be.
We had a great visit with our grandson, Justin, his beautiful wife Allyssa, and our precious great-grandbabies. Justin is in the army and stationed in Fort Eustis, Virginia. We stayed at the campgrounds there, and we were amazed by its beauty. I never expected an army base to be so lovely. I took daily walks all around the base soaking up its history and its grandeur. I didn’t know until the day that we were leaving that there was a beautiful trail right next to the RV park. I could have trekked on it instead of the roads and sidewalks. Tommy went for a stroll and found it. It’s hard to believe that my husband found a trail and not me. There was so much to see on the base that I may have missed if I’d found the path. The Lord always works in mysterious ways in our lives.
If you didn’t know it, I’m a history fiend. I love anything historic. It’s one of the reasons I loved being the owner of Johnny’s Bar & Grill. It is steeped in history, but nothing compared to Fort Eustis, of course. The fort was established in 1918. From the Matthew Jones House to Mulberry Island to its archeological sites, this military base contains lots of historical information and sights. When I came across the Bell UH-1B “Huey,” I couldn’t help thinking about how horrible it is that Biden left billions of dollars of our weapons and technology to our enemies, the Taliban.
I don’t want to get political. However, being on a military base while the Afghanistan debacle was unfolding made it challenging not to be outraged. On the weekdays, the devoted soldiers were running around the base in full military gear. I was wearing shorts and a tank top and I was burning up. It was humid, and I always returned to the RV soaked in sweat. How those poor people ran in all of that gear was mind-boggling. We have no idea what our troops suffer through to protect this country. My appreciation for them cannot be described. I am so proud of our grandson. I forgot to get a picture of him in his uniform, and I’m still kicking myself for it. I’m happy that we got to spend time with the kids.
Next, we headed to the Chesapeake Bay RV Campground in Gloucester, Virginia. It’s a Thousand Trails park, and I was initially only able to book five nights. As usual, God blessed us, and we were able to extend our stay to three whole weeks. Our membership allows us 21 days in a park before we have to move on. We’ve stayed in some that you wouldn’t want to spend three weeks in, but this park is fantastic! We met a great guy while pulling into our campsite, and he is here the entire time that we are. Our next-door neighbor enjoys Pickleball too. We have been enjoying his company.
We walked down to the boat dock on our first day here and met a lovely couple in a golf cart with a sweet black lab. I asked if I could pet their dog, and we struck up a conversation. We liked Tom and June right away. Their fishing boat was tied up at the dock. I jokingly said, “I can’t wait to take a ride in your boat.” We were on the lake with them the next day. I’ve never been on a fishing boat that was that fast. We sailed across the water, and it was energizing. June Bug is serious about her fishing. We stopped in a place that Tom scoped out using his depth finder, and she caught a catfish in no time. I’m not into fish or fishing, but I’d guess that it was about four pounds. She wound up throwing it back into the lake. I was distraught for the little fella, and everyone made fun of me. I love all living creatures, and hunting and fishing are not in my wheelhouse.
The next day we went to the Gloucester Point Pier and had lunch at YROC Coastal Bar & Grill with our new friends. It was fantastic! The waterfront views and the massive yachts make for great outdoor dining. The fish and chips were excellent! I actually ate all of my fish. That never happens. The pickle fries were pretty good too. We liked it there so much that we offered to take neighbor Joe to lunch there a few days later. Tom and June had returned home to Newport News, but they met us there and took us for another great boat outing after lunch. We’re hoping that they come back and stay at the campground again before we leave. We really enjoy their company.
I’ve been so overwhelmed with gratitude for the blessed life that we are enjoying. It’s almost too good to be true. In this crazy screwed-up world, we have so much to be thankful for. I’ve struggled with being livid over the state of our nation under its current administration. I can be skipping around the RV park happy as a clam, and after five minutes of Newsmax, the only news syndication that we watch, and I want to punch something. I watch less and less of it these days. I want to stay informed about what is going on, but I have to say no when it steals my joy.
I watch a lot of outstanding prophetic preachers on YouTube that offer hope for our country and the world. I believe that truth and righteousness will prevail. I think that God is using these tumultuous times for the most significant revival that this world has ever seen. Let’s face it. If Trump had taken his rightful place in office, the folks that voted for Biden and his administration would have no idea just how horrible those people are. This uncovering of treasonous behavior by so many will be the demise of the Democrat Party. There are a lot of lousy Republicans in office too. However, I think we’re about to see the most significant political shift this country has ever experienced.
What Satan means for our harm, God will use for our good. The harvest of souls is going to be massive. Keep the faith and continue to pray for our country and those in office. It’s not easy when you’d like to slap some of them into the next zip code. As Christians, it’s what we a called to do. We can make a difference when we unite in prayer. God loves America. It’s His country, and the devil isn’t going to take it from Him. I think it’s the best country in the world. I’m so glad it’s where God chose to plant me. Prayer and gratefulness will save our nation. Don’t stop believing.
The Fourth of July and the celebration of the birth of our nation is tomorrow. Sadly, too many people view the day as a holiday consisting of backyard barbeques and fireworks. The reason for the observance is completely lost on them. This is especially prominent in people under the age of fifty. For the most part, Millennials and Generation Z are clueless about the significance of July Fourth because of the indoctrination in our schools. The educational system has been biased and broken for a very long time. Instead of wearing pride in your country as a badge of honor, it’s now seen as racist. It’s a sad state of affairs.
In my humble opinion, our nation hasn’t experienced a state of unrest like the current one since the civil war. It isn’t politicians that are going to fix it either. They are the reason that we are in this horrible mess, but we voted them into office. We failed to hold them accountable when they didn’t follow through with their campaign promises. We just tsk, tsked when they got caught in out-and-out lies. We stopped demanding truth and justice. But, it didn’t happen overnight. We have been like the frog that was boiled alive because the temperature of the water was turned up slowly. If he was thrown into the pot while the water was boiling, he would have been smart and hopped out. But, when the heat was turned up slowly, he didn’t notice he was being cooked.
It’s going to require a ton of effort from patriotic, dedicated, God-fearing citizens to turn this critical situation around. We can only right the wrongs if people like those who fought against England’s tyranny take a stand and say no to the oppression our country is facing now. We are a free nation because of the sacrifices of millions that put their lives on the line for their beliefs in the country they cherished. Are you ready to stand and fight for our country and return it to its foundation as one nation under God? The Left wants to erase our history that refers to God and the godly individuals that founded this country. They have already done it in our schools from elementary to our universities. It is precisely why so many young people today have no appreciation for the sacrifices of our men and women in the military or our flag. It’s time to tell this tyrannical administration that we are not going to take this anymore!
God’s people need to stand up and stop this train wreck. We have been wimpy and apathetic for WAY too long. We played into the enemy’s hands when in the guise of tolerance, we ignored the truth. We paid no attention to the distortions of facts that the public school system was cramming down our kid’s throats. Many people, including Christians, believe that Thomas Jefferson’s intent with the establishment clause of separation of church and state was to keep the church out of the state when the opposite is true. His intent was to make sure that the state didn’t dictate how the church operated. A testament to the fact is that the Washington Monument and hundreds, if not thousands of historical shrines refer to God and scripture. God’s people built this beloved country, and it’s time for His people to take it back.
Christians stood silent when the government took prayer and the Bible out of our schools. They failed to stand together and fight to stop Roe v Wade. Statistics tell us that over 62 million babies have been aborted since its inception. I, like many others, believed in the “Woman’s right to choose” doctrine. Where did I get the idea that it was okay to kill babies as a means of birth control? It certainly wasn’t at church. I was indoctrinated by the educational system in that belief. I don’t recall the churches that we attended speaking out against it at the time either. I believe wholeheartedly that if God’s people and churches had united to stop the travesty of Roe v Wade, it would never have gotten past the Supreme Court. I have my own Planned Parenthood story, but that’s for another day. Suffice it to say that I am pro-life and don’t want a penny of my hard-earned money going to Planned Parenthood. I’m not alone in this by any stretch of the imagination. Surveys say that 7 out of 10 Americans don’t want to pay for abortions with their tax dollars.
Speaking of surveys, in a 2018–19 survey, 65% of adults in the United States identified themselves as Christians. That’s down from 75% in 2015. The moral fiber of our nation has declined in leaps and bounds, yet 65% of our country identifies as Christian. If we all acted like Jesus’ followers and adhered to the moral beliefs of the Bible, we wouldn’t have government offices filled with ungodly people, socialists, Marxists, and thieves. I know the pool to choose from has been bleak. It’s taken decades of slow decay and a heck of a lot of apathetic and lazy Christians to get us to this point. In our effort not to be labeled intolerant, we became wimpy do-nothings. We stood by while the loons on the Left dismantled our United States Constitution, disrespected our flag, our military, and law enforcement. They steal our tax dollars to fund their agendas and pad their bank accounts while many major cities have fallen entirely through the cracks.
Nancy Pelosi’s district is one of the worst in the country. She has somehow been re-elected time and time again, despite having done nothing for her constituents in 34 years in office. I personally believe that voter fraud has been going on for a lot longer than any of us know. Who in their right mind would vote for representatives like Pelosi and Maxine Waters, even in crazy California?
Let me ask you? Do you identify yourself as a Christian?
n.1. One who professes belief in Jesus as Christ or follows the religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus.
2. One who lives according to the teachings of Jesus.
I thought I’d share that because I believe many people profess to be Christian when they don’t even know what that means. You can’t call yourself a Christ-follower and say that it’s okay to abort babies. Jeremiah 1:4 says, The Lord said to me, “I knew you before you were formed within your mother’s womb; before you were born I sanctified you and appointed you as my spokesman to the world.” How many of God’s spokespeople have been ripped from their mother’s wombs through abortion? If God knows us all before we are even born, we all matter to Him. How can you call yourself a Christian and go along with the atrocity of abortion? It’s wrong on so many levels.
Isaiah 5:20 is currently being played out in our world. “They say that what is right is wrong, and what is wrong is right; that black is white and white is black; bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter.” The current crazy administration is sanctioning lawlessness. They announced to illegal immigrants that’s it’s okay to crash our borders and come here without going through legal channels. The damage it is doing to our country is unfathomable. Murders, rapists, and thieves are pouring into our country because of Biden’s policies. This should infuriate you, even if you are a Democrat. Heroin, Cocaine, and Fentanyl are once again flooding into our country from the southern border. Our President Trump had curtailed that traffic by initiating sensible policies and building our border wall. Biden got rid of all of them with a pen stroke only days after stepping into the office he stole. He has been worse than I even imagined.
It’s time to make some noise, people! It’s time to pray without ceasing that this travesty will not be allowed to continue. I believe that God has allowed the situation to go this far because many people, including Christians, refused to believe the truth about the election. They refused to accept the fact that the destruction of our country is what the democrats seek. The people that sit in front of their televisions eating up all of the lies the fake media throws at them need to wake the heck up! What will it take to open the eyes of those in denial? Are you not witnessing the crisis at the border, fuel prices through the roof, loss of jobs, an inflation rate at its highest increase since August of 2008, and a bumbling president that embarrasses our country every time he opens his mouth?
There is hope if the church will unite. If we will pray and seek God for guidance, He will show us what to do. We need to trust and believe that He will clean up this mess. We need to start talking about the great things He is already doing through this crisis and stop concentrating on the negative. I’ve remarked to many Christians that I am still praying and believing for the restoration of our country, and they act like I’ve lost my mind. They tell me that they are praying too, but they don’t see how we can change things. It’s bigger than us, folks. God can change anything. How can people that believe in Christ and the Bible not believe that He can fix this mess? How can you say that our God who parted the Red Sea so that the Israelites could walk across dry land can’t expose a fraud like the 2020 election? Why are you so sure that He has deserted America?
America certainly deserves to have God turn His back on us. We turned ours on Him, but that’s not the way He rolls. As the opening scripture of this post says, if we will humble ourselves and seek Him, God will heal our land. We are God’s country. It’s time we started acting like it. Put Him back in our schools. Open up our churches and preach the Word without twisting it to appease the portioners so that your offering plates and seats are full. Call wrong, wrong, and right, right. If your church hasn’t taken a stand and opened its doors, I suggest finding another church. Find a Holy Spirit-filled church that ignites and empowers its people. We need godly people running for public offices. The school boards, city councils, supervisors’ offices, on up need people of integrity on them.
What are you going to do? How are you going to make a difference? Everyone can pray and believe. If that is all, you do it will make a difference. I believe that God loves America with all of my heart, and He will not let Satan take it. Trust me, the devil is shaking in his boots as he witnesses the revival that is underway. People are turning to Christ in record numbers. Renewal, restoration, and repentance is taking place on a global scale. Do not be dismayed. You are about to witness a monumental shift in this nation. I believe the free rein that God allowed Satan to have in this country is coming to an end. He knows it too. The great awakening that is taking place should embolden you to speak out for God and His people. You should be fed up with the censorship of Social Media and the lies of the mainstream media. You should be fighting mad that real news is no longer reported on except for a couple of conservative stations. The double standards of the democrats should make you livid, even if you are registered as a member of the party. You should be filled with outrage that our election was stolen. When all of the fraud and cheating is exposed, which it will be, you should want everything to be done to see that nothing like it ever happens again. If we allow this travesty to continue, it will be the end of our country as we know it.
Please, take a stand and let your voice be heard. Even if you never saw yourself in a position in the political arena, consider it. Write to those ding dongs in congress that forgot that they work for us and tell them how you feel. Wherever your sphere of influence is, use your voice and encourage others to pray and vote for godly people. You can make a difference. We all can. Let’s take our country back, folks. When you pray, do it with confidence. Believe it and receive it. Hebrews 11:6 tells us that without faith, it is impossible to please God. You can’t pray for something while in the back of your mind believing it is impossible and expect your prayers to be answered. Let’s all unify in the belief that God will save this nation. Let’s all start talking about the revival, renewal, refreshing, and reset coming to our United States of America.
Are you with me? I hope that you are. Have a blessed 4th of July. Enjoy your family and your safe and sane fireworks. Just be sure to let your kids know what the celebration is about. Please feel free to add your prayers and positive comments to this post.
I look forward to sharing the positive energy. God is good, and He’s not done with us yet.
